Role Overview
A global financial technology organization is seeking a senior infrastructure engineering leader to own the delivery of critical infrastructure platforms supporting a large-scale, API-driven software environment.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an engineer with broad experience across software and infrastructure. The position combines architecture and engineering with technical delivery and people leadership across areas including cloud infrastructure, Linux compute, Kubernetes, networking, identity and access management, observability, SDLC, service discovery, and storage.
The successful candidate will lead other engineers while remaining an active individual contributor.
What You`ll Be Doing
- Own the delivery of critical infrastructure systems supporting customer-facing applications and internal engineering teams.
- Design, build, and operate highly available and reliable infrastructure services.
- Lead engineers through the design and delivery of complex technical solutions.
- Remain hands-on with engineering, coding, troubleshooting, and implementation.
- Build infrastructure applications and tooling that improve reliability, automation, and interoperability across the technology environment.
- Take ownership of systems spanning cloud infrastructure, compute, networking, identity, observability, storage, and software delivery.
- Develop solutions using internally developed software and open-source technologies.
- Partner across engineering teams to solve infrastructure challenges and improve platform capabilities.
- Operate critical infrastructure supporting a global SaaS and API-driven environment.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant infrastructure engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of critical production systems.
- Advanced experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Linux.
- Advanced Python development skills.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience with authentication and authorization technologies.
- Ability to design and build reliable, performant infrastructure solutions using software and open-source technologies.
- Strong coding ability and a software engineering approach to infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own and deliver complex technical initiatives.
- Bachelor`s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading engineers or technical teams.
- Experience owning infrastructure technologies such as DNS, Kerberos, Kubernetes, Linux, and AWS.
- Experience operating critical production workloads in AWS.
- Exposure to Java, Go, and Bash.
- Experience working across multiple infrastructure disciplines rather than specializing exclusively in one area.
- Experience using GenAI development tools to improve engineering productivity.

Compensation
Base Salary: to $300,000 +/-, based on experience
Variable Compensation: Year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of employment.
Hybrid in NY Metro area preferred, Remote eligible if not commutable to office.
