A well-funded, venture-backed healthcare technology company is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help build and scale a modern software platform used by employers, healthcare providers, and end users. This role combines hands-on product development with AI-driven innovation and close collaboration with business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate enjoys building across the full stack, partnering with cross-functional teams, and leveraging AI to improve both customer-facing products and internal operations.
This is a permanent direct hire opportunity. Hybrid schedule, in office 2 days a week in NYC
What You`ll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS.
- Build intuitive, accessible user interfaces for external customers and internal users.
- Develop scalable backend services and APIs supporting core business workflows.
- Design and implement AI-powered product capabilities where they improve customer outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize AI tools that enhance internal business processes.
- Partner directly with operations, business, and domain experts to translate business problems into technical solutions.
- Build integrations with third-party platforms and industry-specific systems.
- Implement secure software development practices with an emphasis on data privacy and regulatory compliance.
- Participate in architecture discussions and help guide technology decisions as the platform scales.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute thoughtful code reviews.
- Mentor other engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience. Strong experience with:
- React
- TypeScript / JavaScript
- Node.js
- Python
- PostgreSQL
- Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
- Comfortable working across frontend and backend development.
- Experience collaborating directly with non-technical business stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, testing, and code quality.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup or small engineering team.
- Bachelor`s Degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building AI-enabled applications or integrating LLMs into products.
- Experience implementing workflow automation using AI tools.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs.
- Familiarity with healthcare, regulated industries, or privacy-sensitive environments.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Knowledge of cloud security and data protection best practices.
