Role Overview
A financial services organization is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help design and build a modern risk data platform. This individual will play a key role in transforming risk reporting through scalable data architecture, automated pipelines, and business-focused analytics.
This is a 6-month contract engagement with potential for extension.
Location: Onsite, Dallas, TX
Compensation: Approximately $60/hour +/-
What You`ll Be Doing
- Design and develop scalable database architecture supporting risk analytics and reporting
- Build ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest and process data from trading systems, market data feeds, and internal applications
- Create centralized data models that serve as a trusted source for risk reporting
- Automate manual reporting workflows and improve data quality, auditability, and operational efficiency
- Optimize data processing systems to support large-scale datasets and analytical workloads
- Partner with Risk, Finance, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Develop reporting and dashboard capabilities that improve visibility into risk metrics
- Support ongoing data engineering and analytics initiatives as business needs evolve
What We`re Looking For
- Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
- Strong experience with data modeling, database design, and enterprise data architecture
- Advanced Python and SQL skills
- Experience building and supporting cloud-based data platforms
- Experience designing automated reporting and analytics solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience within financial services, capital markets, or fintech environments preferred
- Understanding of fixed income products, trading workflows, and risk management concepts preferred
